Material Handling Consulting: Increase Throughput Without Replacing Good Equipment.

The Team Nexteer and Flex-N-Gate Call When Demand Increases, or Product Lines Change.

When production falls behind and the fix isn’t obvious, Conveyability walks your floor, follows the material, and tells you whether the answer is a repair, a controls change, a targeted upgrade, or a bigger system. The team that evaluates is the same team that engineers, fabricates, installs, and supports whatever comes next.

Not just concepts. Conveyability scopes the changes, and does the work all in-house if you want us to.

Value engineering around current systems. Keep what works, fix what doesn’t. Upgrade when needed.

45+ years of experience across multiple industries.

Most Plants are Not At Full Capacity. That’s a Statistic, Not an Opinion.

Finding the right bottleneck isn’t always easy. The cost of chasing the wrong problem can be very high. With rising labor shortages, making investment into improved systems has to be a careful and strategic decision. Finding the right material handling consulting partner makes all the difference.

Times The Bottleneck You Found Last Time Isn’t Costing You Now.

In an automotive study of 13 machines and 315 consecutive production runs that tracked where output was actually constrained, the bottleneck from one run was only the bottleneck on the next run 20.8% of the time. Often the issue moves faster than someone that walks the floor. So when the plants attempted to identify the constraint, they often identify the wrong problem. The hangup everyone is complaining about is rarely the actual constraint to fix.

Across The US Manufacturing Industry Is Not Producing Anything.

The Federal Reserve tracks this every month. U.S. plants are running at 76% of what they’re built to produce, which is below where it’s sat for the last fifty years. So roughly a quarter of the country’s manufacturing capacity is just sitting there. At the same time, plants are holding $271.5 billion in product that’s been started and never finished. That’s not capacity you have to go buy. It’s capacity you already paid for, stuck between machines.

17% More Output

From The Plants With A 3rd Party Evaluation.

Researchers ran an actual experiment. They sent operations experts into some plants, left a comparison group alone, and measured the difference between them. The plants that got the walkthrough produced 17% more, cut defects by 43%, and spent under $3,000 doing it. No new machines. No new building. No expansion. Somebody just found what nobody inside had time to go look for. Eight years later, those plants were still 35% ahead of the ones that skipped it. The capacity was already in the building the whole time.

Conveyorized VRC

40% of Differences

In How Plants Run Up Show Up Between Plants Owned By The Same Company.

The Census Bureau scored more than 35,000 U.S. manufacturing plants on how they actually operate — what gets measured, what gets tracked, what gets a target. Those practices explained more than a fifth of the productivity gap between plants, as much as R&D and twice as much as IT. Then it gets uncomfortable: 40% of that variation was between plants inside the same company. Same owner. Same capital budget. Same equipment catalog. One plant just runs better than the other, and usually nobody has walked the second floor to find out why.

“Their fabrication and build quality is excellent, and their installation support and service has been second to none.”

“We have been a customer of Conveyability for 15+ years. They have designed, fabricated, installed, and supported assembly conveyor systems on our largest OEM bumper programs. Their fabrication and build quality is excellent, and their installation support and service has been second to none.”

You Don’t Need Someone To Show You A Pile Of Boxes. You Need To Diagnose The Entire Chain.

Most plants don’t need more equipment. They need somebody to follow the product from start to finish and find where the whole thing actually breaks down. Setting mousetraps in every room will keep the mice at bay, but it won’t stop them from showing up. We follow the material, watch the cycles, and talk to the people running it every day. We figure out what you can keep using, what needs to be replaced, and whether the answer is a $2,000 repair, or a $200,000 piece of machinery. And we work with your budget to determine when changes need to happen.

Tired Of Advice From Vendors Who Give Advice But Don’t Know The Impacts? Not With Us.

Conveyability Goes Beyond Material Handling Consulting.

One Vendor, No Excuses

When Big Integrators Are Still Thinking and Planning, We’re Already Welding & Testing.

Most projects don’t break at the equipment. They break at the seams between vendors. The supplier points at the controls guy, the controls guy points at the installer, and you’re the one running that meeting instead of running your plant. We don’t have those seams. Engineering, fabrication, controls and installation are all in-house — we don’t sub out the install. So when something has to change at 6am on a shutdown Saturday, there’s one number to call, and the person who picks up already knows your line.

Short Lead Times? No Problem.

Parts Missing? Let’s Build Them. Painters Running Behind? We’ll Do It Ourselves.

We’re privately held with our own fab shop, which means saying yes doesn’t take three approvals and a change-order committee. One customer’s assembly process grew past the original footprint after our design was finished and the material was already on order. We reworked it and still hit their production schedule. Plant changed after design freeze? Shutdown window moved up three weeks? Odd request nobody else wants to touch? That’s a normal week around here.

Get More From Your Plant.

The Right Fix. Not The Biggest One.

Equipment from three manufacturers that were never designed to talk to each other. Drawings that stopped matching reality two expansions ago. A layout that makes no sense on paper but somehow works, and the one guy who knows why is retiring in March. That’s not an edge case to us — that’s the job. We’ve been building custom material handling since 1980 and the team carries over 300 years of combined experience. We’d rather start with the plant you have than pretend you’re building a new one.

Your Plant Needs a Plan, Not a Pitch, Not another Band Aid With Issues Still Happening.

After walking the product path, timing cycles, talking to operators, and reviewing constraints, Conveyability delivers one of these:

A repair plan you can execute next shutdown.

A focused modification that solves the real constraint.

A phased system designed around the budget you actually have.

Confirmation that the current setup just needs maintenance, not money.

Not a 40-page proposal for equipment you don’t need.

How do we deliver on-time and on-budget? One Team, No Handoffs, Start to Finish.

One walk-through. Four steps. A decision you can act on.

01

The Constraint

Capacity, labor, safety, quality or a failed system - we start where production hurts, not with a catalog.

02

Plant Eval

We walk the floor: elevations, openings, floor space, existing equipment, controls, access and installation constraints.

03

The Plan

The right mix of conveyance, automation and controls. Not the most expensive answer. No cookie-cutter solutions.

04

Build / Install

Whether it is one machine, one part or a full system build-out, we are there. Designed, fabricated, wired and installed by the same team that engineered it.

05

Future Proof

Customers work with us for years. Service, modifications and future changes as production evolves.

Meet Conveyability: Conveyor System Design Experts Across Industries.

A plant evaluation starts with the production problem, not a product list. Conveyability looks across conveyor, controls, transfers, operators, layout and existing assets to find where the operating problem actually begins.

Plant Evaluation FAQs

What to send, what it costs, and what happens if the answer is “not yet.”

Do I need to know what equipment I need before calling?

No. That’s the point. Start with the production problem. Equipment selection comes after the evaluation.

Is this just for conveyor problems?

No. The material path crosses conveyors, transfers, controls, manual handling, and layout. We follow the product, not a product category.

What if the answer is “don’t spend money”?

Then we tell you. Sometimes the plant needs maintenance or a controls tweak, not capital.

How much does a plant evaluation cost?

Depends on scope and facility. We can talk through that in the first conversation.

What should I have ready?

Anything helps. Photos, a floor plan, a description of where it slows down, production targets. A complete engineering package is not required.

Does Conveyability only evaluate, or also build?

Both. Same team that evaluates can engineer, fabricate, install, and support. No gap between diagnosis and execution.
