Sound material handling solutions for over four decades.
Sortation Conveyor Systems and Controls
Get orders to the right door the first time, at the volume you actually run.
Sortation is where the building keeps its promises — the right carton down the right lane at the rate the day demands. In modern distribution the range runs from simple gravity setups to sophisticated computer-controlled systems, and Conveyability designs yours from inventory dates, movement reports and simulation, not from a template.
Designed from movement data and simulation, sized for your real peak.
Merges, induction and diverts matched to the product mix.
Sortation control systems, scanning and tracking in the same scope.
Combined team member material handling experience.
Inventory dates, movement reports and simulation first.
Simple setups through computer-controlled sortation.

What Keeps a Sort Accurate at Full Speed
The sorter itself is rarely the limit. These four spots usually are.
Induction & merges
The sorter’s ceiling is usually set upstream — how cleanly product merges, gaps and squares up before the scan decides the real rate.
Identification
Bar code scanning, camera technology and RF systems tell the sorter what it’s looking at. Bad reads become recirculation and hand-sorting.
The divert
Divert style is a product decision — what’s gentle enough for your cartons and fast enough for your rate at each lane.
Lanes & takeaway
Full lanes back the sorter up. Accumulation, lane length and downstream takeaway keep the sort moving through the peak hour.
Movement reports and simulation before equipment selection.
Designed from the Data, Not the Demo Floor.
Two buildings with the same throughput can need completely different sorters. Conveyability researches inventory dates, movement reports and simulation, then selects equipment to match current and future needs — so the system fits the order profile you have, and the one you’re heading toward.
Sortation control systems, scanning and tracking in-house.
The Controls Are Half the Sorter.
Mechanically identical sorters perform differently on their logic. Our controls team builds sortation control systems, bar code scanning, camera technology and RFID integration in-house — so induction, tracking and divert timing get engineered with the conveyor, not bolted on by a fourth vendor.

When the Sorter Is Your Ceiling, Conveyability Raises It
Rate problems usually live at the merge, the scan or the lane — we look at all of it.
One team of top-tier problem solvers.
Start with what failed and what production is experiencing — not just the replacement part.
Speed, responsiveness and lead-time flexibility.
Service has to fit the urgency, shutdown window and reality of the operating plant.
Value engineering inside the real budget.
Repair what is worth repairing, modify what is causing the problem and upgrade only where the system has truly outgrown the old answer.
Custom plans built around the plant you have.
Legacy equipment, multiple manufacturers and incomplete drawings are normal inputs.
No passing the buck when the interfaces get messy.
Mechanical, controls, fabrication, installation and future support stay connected through one team.

Sortation System FAQs
Rates, retrofits, controls and where to start.
How much sortation do we actually need?
It comes from your data — order profiles, movement reports and the peak you really hit. Simple gravity setups solve more than people expect; automation earns its way in with volume.
Our sorter can’t hold its rated speed. Why?
Usually induction and merges, read rates, or full lanes — not the sorter itself. Those are fixable without replacing the machine.
Can you add lanes or capacity to an existing sorter?
Often, yes. Lanes, merges, scanning upgrades and controls changes can be phased into an installed system during planned windows.
Do you handle the scanning and tracking?
Yes — bar code scanning, camera technology, RF systems and sortation control systems are part of our in-house controls scope.
Can the system talk to our warehouse software?
Data integration is part of the design conversation, so the physical sort and your inventory system agree about what went down which lane.
Where do projects usually start?
With movement data and a walk of the floor. The equipment list comes after we know what the orders actually do.
